Security Consultant – NY

Position: Technical Security Consultant
Work Arrangement: Potential Hybrid depending on situation and candidate

Overview

A growing security consulting and design firm is seeking a Technical Security Consultant to support the delivery of integrated security solutions across a diverse client base. This role is suited for a self-driven professional experienced in designing and implementing security systems within complex projects.

Junior and senior candidates will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer integrated security systems (e.g., video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, intercom, mass notification)
  • Produce technical drawings and specifications (AutoCAD, Visio, or similar)
  • Manage assigned projects, including scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Perform QA/QC on designs and documentation
  • Coordinate across multiple trades and project stakeholders
  • Conduct site assessments, attend meetings, and support project execution
  • Stay current on industry technologies and trends
  • Contribute to process improvements and business development efforts

Qualifications

  • Experience in security system design and integration
  • Familiarity with electrical, network, and building systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD required (Revit a plus)
  • Knowledge of relevant codes (NEC, life safety, building codes)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects

Education & Experience

  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience

Junior: 2–4 years of experience
Senior: 10+ years with leadership experience

Certifications & Clearance

  • Ability to obtain industry certification within 18 months
  • Must pass background checks and be eligible for required clearances
